  1. Give the notes section some love! (Admin-approval, notifications, time-stamps, calendar view!)

    • See notes from a calendar view.

    • Dashboard notifications for recently created notes

    • Ability to approve notes/ OR viewed option similar to the check box that removes the error message when you forget to clock out?

    • Allow notes editing even after job completion (with a time stamp)

  2. Two week pay period reports

    Have a way to calculate regular and overtime hours for a two week period. (For example on the first week of a pay period an employee has 38 hours and on the second the have 43. So for that pay period they would have 78 regular hours and 3 overtime hours.) Currently you need to check week by week and add the hours together manually.

  3. Have clockshark correctly account for time that crosses into a new day instead of recording on the day they punch in initially.

    If an employee works 9PM on one day until 3 AM the next morning the time should be split on the appropriate day to ensure time is accurately recorded in the correct payroll day and week. The way it is now could create a potential overtime situation that should not be overtime if it is not recorded properly at the end of a payroll cycle.

    Thanks for your feedback, Michelle. We are still trying to perfect how ClockShark should handle an overnight shift. It’s currently set to what it is, since it seemed to work well for most of our customers.

    Obviously, you need it to work a little differently, so we’ll look into this more for you and explore updating that feature. If you can, would you like to share the ideal situation for how ClockShark should handle time that goes beyond midnight?

  4. Visual of completed jobs

    Would be nice to see when the jobs are completed. Nice if the plumbers could check out of each job so we can see what has been done and what still needs to be done that day. We can see when they are on the job by going into another screen. Nice if on main calendar screen can show a green dot for on the job and red dot for done with that job...

  6. Force punch in/out for employees

    Administrators/Employers should be able to punch employees in and out with having to use the crew clock function on the mobile app. For example, if an employee shows up without his cell phone one day, or goes home and forgets to clock out. Admin should be able to force punch that employee on/off the time clock immediately. Also for employees that like to milk to the clock at the end of a shift can be clocked out by admin.

  7. change the order of the employees in time sheet views

    The ability to arrange the employees on the time sheets so that you could have the guys that work on the same job listed together instead of alphabetically. or to be able to expand the jobs in the time sheets when in the 'Job View'

  9. No Lunch option

    I'd like to see a "No Lunch" option that would allow the person in the field who worked through their lunch to select and not have lunch taken out of their time worked. This would also save time in the office so that we aren't spending time removing a lunch that was automatically added to the employee's time.

  10. Have TimeSheets show live current hours employees have worked this week

    I need the ability for the timesheets to show live what the current hours are for employees instead of waiting until they clock out. If it is Thursday at noon and I need to know which employees are approaching 40 hours right now I have to look at timesheets and then look at how many hours they have clocked in for today and figure out how many more hours they can work. I would like to have that live in one place.

    Thanks for the excellent suggestion, Mike. Currently, the TimeSheet displays completed time, and the Who’s Working Now screen shows the time in-progress.

    If an employee is clocked in, however, on the TimeSheets screen (beside their name) it will show the job and how long they’ve been clocked in, so you can “ball-park” the time the employee has totally worked.

    I like your suggestion of having to-the-minute accuracy, so we’ll keep watch on this idea and the support it gathers so that we know when to add it. If you have any other suggestions, I’d love to hear them.

  11. PINGING BREAK TIMES

    is there a way to ping the guys in the field as to when to take their breaks?

    Hi Cynthia,

    That’s a really great question! Currently, there is not a way to remind employees to take their breaks; however, in your Admin > Company Settings, you can set up an automatic lunch deduction. Sometimes this is helpful if you don’t want employees to even worry about taking their breaks.

  12. Ability to drill into the hours on a job to view total hours and how many hours each employee worked on that job.

    The only place I have found to view total job hours is in the admin tab. You need any easier way to job cost.

  13. Create Tick Box for Change Orders

    We would use Tasks extensively and if we have to create a Task called "Change Order" it would prevent us from determining the actual task performed as a change order.

    Having a tick box along with a field to enter a change order number or description of work performed under a change order would be very helpful. Generating reports, isolating change orders by job would be a must in this scenario.

    This really gets at the idea of a check box of items to do, and it’s a suggestion we do get from time to time. Thanks for posting it here, Will, so other people can vote on it, and we can see if we need to add it in a future update.

    For the admins - once a job is complete to have the ability to view job description on the dashboard as well as the reports.

    This sounds like a great idea! Just to clarify for our development team, by “complete”, do you mean that the employees have finished working on it, or the Administrator has finished adding it to the account?

  15. Move finished/unapproved jobs to folder(s)

    Need the ability to move jobs that are not active to folders for organization. As a future feature, I would like to be able to file away completed jobs, whether locally or in your cloud. I can imagine that after a year or two, this job page will become quite onerous with hundreds of entries to sort through. As we use ClockShark, we have jobs active, jobs quoted but not approved, jobs denied, jobs invoiced and jobs completed and ready to invoice. It would be nice to be able to move jobs out of the jobs screen to facilitate easier…

    This is a really great suggestion. Having a way to “filter” your jobs screen by job status would be very helpful. We’ll keep our eyes on this idea’s support so we know when to add this for you. :)

    Reading the comments, Mallories is correct: you do already have some options when dealing with completed jobs in ClockShark.

    1. You can delete them, which will remove them from the app and the Admin > Jobs screen. (Note: the time data doesn’t disappear: you can always run any report for “All Jobs” to manifest the time for deleted jobs).

    2. Or you can inactivate a job which will remove it from the list of jobs in the app, but will leave it in view on the Admin > Jobs screen. This is helpful if a job won’t be worked on for a while. Inactivating jobs in QuickBooks inactivates them in Clockshark…

  16. Need to be able to see an employee break time in the console

    I need to be able to see an employee's break time in the console. As it is now, when and employee begins or ends break, I see a popup. I need to see the summary of their break time as well in this field, or I need to have them not be able to use the break button. We have employees who will take advantage sometimes if no one is watching them, and clock back in before they start working. I cannot tell this happened until they are off the clock entirely. I would like to shut off the break…

    Hey Mark. Using the Notes and Attachments features, employees can take pictures of their receipts and upload them with their time punches. This is a great way to exchange information from the field with the office.

  18. Freeze the 'date row' in Scheduling for scrolling

    I would be great if we could see which day we are on when we're scrolled down in the scheduling page.

  19. Master Lists of Employees and Tasks that can be saved and pasted to Jobs that use the same crews

    Have the ability to create lists of Employees and Tasks that can be pasted into Jobs that have the same crew and tasks assigned. We have many Jobs that have the same people and tasks and entering them over and over is time consuming, when using "Allow Only"

  20. Gives employees an option to mark per diem for overnight stays

    When an employee has to stay over night our company pays them a per diem. Currently they can leave a note saying they had an overnight but it would be nice if there was a box to check that would also show up in the reports ran with hours worked. That way after the employer runs the weekly hours they wouldn't also have to open up all of the notes to see if there is an overnight.
