I strongly agree. I was really pleased when an approval feature was added, but it's such a pain to have to bounce back and forth in two different browser tabs between the timesheet screen and the approval screen, I still don't even use it - I'm still using post it notes on my laptop screen to approve specific days when I submit timesheets for payroll... Over all the approval feature was done very poorly, and really needs some serious improvement. An option to approve days directly from the timesheet screen is definitely something that needs to be added in order to make this feature viable.

I agree. I would say, that in my experience, there are few if ANY construction companies that pay or bill to the nearest quarter hour. We've subbed and worked with dozens of construction companies, and they all round to the nearest half hour. So why this isn't an option for Clockshark, when it specifies that it caters in large part to trades, is totally beyond me.

Thanks for the suggestion: having an “exception” report that details any employee missteps in the app would be very helpful. Please continue to add your thoughts and support below, and we’ll consider this for a future update.

Thanks for sharing your idea, Pawel. This would certainly help ensure that colors don’t get duplicated, but I do anticipate it requiring more colors to be added to ClockShark. It’s a great idea, and I look forward to hearing how other users respond to it. Go ahead and vote, folks; and we’ll consider adding this in a future update.

I also like the idea of having auto assigned colours, specifically to jobs that are by the same client... so essentially, each client would have their own colour; reports could be generated based on colour, and jobs could be sorted by colour in the active/inactive jobs list. Also, an unlimited range of colours instead of just the limited selection that is currently available.

Hi, Angela. Thanks for sharing your idea here on our Voting Page. You make a great observation: all the invoices do currently arrive just in USD, but we will look into implementing this in other currencies in a future update. Let’s let folks vote on it here, but thank you for voicing the need for this feature. If you have any other suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

Thanks for sharing your support for this idea here! As support continues to mount for this idea, our development team will plan how to bring this to you in ClockShark. :)

Reading this idea, and all the comments below, I can see that the consensus is that administrators would like a way to designate an Off/Holiday/PTO day, without having to insert any time for an employee. Currently, in ClockShark there is an available workaround that’s equivalent to the feature being requested.

If you’d like to see how to designate that an employee will be taking (or took) a day off, Morgan from our Customer Success team explains how to do that here: https://soapbox.wistia.com/videos/SkNhqgi9Kc

Feel free to let me know if this video is helpful, or if you have any other suggestions/ideas regarding how we can improve ClockShark for you. I love hearing your ideas.

Hey Mark. Using the Notes and Attachments features, employees can take pictures of their receipts and upload them with their time punches. This is a great way to exchange information from the field with the office.

I like the idea of the "tasks", to track what the guys do while on the clock. This is particularly helpful for the company I work for, as we are subcontractors in the glass installation business. Sometimes our clients want breakdowns of what our guys are spending their time doing (and getting paid to do) throughout the day. However, we don't like that the guys have to take their phones out and use them during the day to change their task, which is why we haven't been using "tasks" throughout the day. Currently the only task we have is "On site", which is selected when the guys clock in. It would be great if, at the end of the day when the guys clock out, there were boxes with different duties they could check off so we could see what they spent their time at work doing (installing, caulking, glazing, receiving new materials, etc.). This would eliminate the need for them to be taking their phones out while at work, thus maintaining professionalism in the eye of our clients, and yet still enable us to track different tasks that they accomplish throughout the day.
