Hello again Angela, thanks for your detailed feedback it is super useful to hear what challenges you are facing and why.

The Pay Rate is used on the Pay Rate report which is great for simple calculations but definitely falls short for more complex ones like you mention.

Are you running this report for a job over multiple years frequently?

We tend to prioritize all suggestions with the most traction and support. If this becomes a popular request, we will build it!

I agree that this should be implemented. Having to go in and reactivate old jobs every time one of them needs a report (and then go back and deactivate them after the report is run) is extremely tedious and annoying.

Hey, Angela thanks for sharing your idea and the details behind it.

This is definitely an interesting case. So when your employees are subcontracted out to other companies they still track time on your ClockShark account and you provide this information with the other company?

Most of the time we get this idea where users want to limit who the breaks apply to based on the person, not the job. But this use case does make sense.

As always, with limited work time and lots of ideas, we prioritize all suggestions with the most traction and support. Lets keep the votes coming.

In the Time Sheet Details page, right now there is only the ability to easily move to the next day for the same employee using the left and right arrows. It would be nice to be able to also move up/down to the previous/next employee for the same day, without having to navigate back to the Timesheets page. Up and down arrows that work like the left and right arrows could be added to make this happen.

Hey there, thanks for sharing your idea, and allowing folks to have a forum to support and vote for it.

We are currently in the process of building a report that does something very similar. This report would be able to give you all the notifications like “late in”, “missing clock out”, “out of bounds”, etc. for certain employees and days.

If the "late in" feature only works if the scheduler is used, then no, because not all companies use the clockshark scheduler and would still need ability to track things like lateness.

We also do not use tasks, and it is an annoying waste of time for our guys to have to choose the fake task I've set up for them just because there's no option to disable tasks.

It would also be very helpful to not just have auto clock in & out, but to actually make it impossible for employees to even clock into any given job unless they are physically within the bounds of that job's GPS fence.

This would be an excellent deterrent to time theft, and could potentially save ClockShark customers hundreds of dollars or more that would otherwise be lost to this very common problem.

Thanks for the idea, Bruno. We’ll definitely consider this. Up until now, preventing an employee from clocking in because of their location is a little squirrelly for both parties. So we have a created a conservative in-between.

Currently, you can set up Out of Bounds alerts in ClockShark that will alert you if an employee is clocking in/out from outside the GPS Fence. Let me share an article on how to set that up: http://help.clockshark.com/knowledgebase/articles/1135408-using-gps-fence-geofencing

Out of Bounds alerts will make you aware anytime an employee clocks time when they’re not on the jobsite. We’ll keep our eyes on this idea’s feedback to see if that setting needs to be more restrictive. Keep on voting, folks.

Hey again! That was me that merged your idea with the other idea so I might not be fully understanding this. I know you want the idea of an “admin only” note that they could view on the timesheets.

Would this be attached to the employee’s shift itself, or as a standalone note with no time associated with it. Almost like you could just put an admin only sticky note on the timesheets page. Something like on the 1/31/2020 timesheet for John Smith “John’s car broke down today, he won’t be in till 3 pm.”

Or would you like an admin only note that could be both associated with or without a time segment? Thanks for more information!

Preferably attached to the employee's shift itself, or both. So right now there is the "normal" note, which employees can leave themselves and which admins can add to, and anything added to this note, the employee is able to see. What I am suggesting is a second note, which an admin can make and which cannot be viewed be the employee at all. For example, if the admin is auditing an employees timesheet due to possible time theft, and the admin needs to make notes regarding different shifts but they do not want the employee to be able to see these notes as they are part of an audit in process, there could be a second text field below the current "normal" notes box. Anything in this other notes box would only be viewable by admins, instead of by both admins and employees.

Hey there, thanks for sharing this idea and providing others an opportunity to vote with you!

This is something we already tackle with our GPS fencing! While we don’t show the fence all the time (which might be your request) we do show the fence if the employee leaves it. If you enable the “out of bounds” notification as well as the GPS Fence for that job, we will check if your employee clocks in, clocks out, or leaves the GPS fence while they are on the clock. Any time they do, there will be an “out of bounds” notification which you can click and will show the GPS fence with respect to their clock outs.

The idea is to only show you the fence when something goes wrong, that way the map is cleaner and less cluttered. You can see this in action here: https://help.clockshark.com/en/articles/2944415-how-to-use-the-out-of-bounds-notification .

    Let me know…

Thanks for sharing your support for this idea here! As support continues to mount for this idea, our development team will plan how to bring this to you in ClockShark. :)

Reading this idea, and all the comments below, I can see that the consensus is that administrators would like a way to designate an Off/Holiday/PTO day, without having to insert any time for an employee. Currently, in ClockShark there is an available workaround that’s equivalent to the feature being requested.

If you’d like to see how to designate that an employee will be taking (or took) a day off, Morgan from our Customer Success team explains how to do that here: https://soapbox.wistia.com/videos/SkNhqgi9Kc

Feel free to let me know if this video is helpful, or if you have any other suggestions/ideas regarding how we can improve ClockShark for you. I love hearing your ideas.

Currently there is one type of note, which is viewable by both admins and by employees. It would be nice to have a second type of note available, ONLY viewable by admins. This would allow admins to make confidential notes for that employee's entry for that day, that may contain sensitive information which that specific employee is not privy to. EDIT: This idea was moved to a comment on an idea for something that is not what I am suggesting here. Not sure why?

I agree. I would say, that in my experience, there are few if ANY construction companies that pay or bill to the nearest quarter hour. We've subbed and worked with dozens of construction companies, and they all round to the nearest half hour. So why this isn't an option for Clockshark, when it specifies that it caters in large part to trades, is totally beyond me.
