Depending on what information needs to be communicated to employees (schedule changes, upcoming job start time), there may already be a notification available in ClockShark. Feel free to check out http://help.clockshark.com/knowledgebase/articles/1133746-using-notifications to see how those notifications suit your needs. :)
Regarding the ability to craft particular messages and send them directly through the app, this is a request that we are hearing more-and-more. I’m sharing this with our development team, and we’ll continue to monitor the votes here for this idea, so we can know when we should add that for you.
If you have any other ideas or suggestions, you can let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org. I love to hear how we can improve ClockShark for you.
I'm not sure what this is, like a messenger app linked to the time sheets? I worry that there are too many messenger options. If every program has one keeping track would be more work. Maybe consider a single messeging program like LYNX or (the one I use) Google Hangouts. It has the option to goto video mode while you chatting or just text/voice mode. I have found it very useful and there are other options that are also good. You can "call" right from the program to another user, make it a conference call or meeting. Check it out, I hope you find it as easy as I have. Deb Wintersmith Toledo Ohio
A more robust OT feature would be convenient to have, especially if your company follows a different overtime policy than 40 hours a week. We’ll keep monitoring this for votes, so please share your thoughts below, everyone.
I wasn't aware there was an option for bi-weekly OT. I did look it up and its called the 8 and 80 plan, hum who knew. I will use one of my votes because this would certainly help track a potentially tricky process. Good luck, Deb Wintersmith Toledo Ohio
Thanks for bringing this idea to the table and allowing others to vote and participate on this!
I’m happy to say that we are currently in the process of planning and building a new feature that allows you to assign jobs to a customer. Then you can new and old jobs just by them. Like others have mentioned, we do currently have different folders for all jobs, active jobs, and inactive jobs on the jobs page now. So this is great for your organization.
But be on the look out, great things coming soon!
This is already part of the program. In the jobs section you can make a job active or inactive. If its inactive it doesnt show up for the field to select. This is good, we had a couple instances when an employee logged into a closed job that was not updated to inactive. Take a look and see if this is what you are looking for. Mileage tracking is something that we do hear a fair number of you requesting, so it’s something we’ll consider adding to ClockShark on a future update. Current feature addition projects are taking priority, so if you like this idea then please vote in with your support.
The program already tracks via GPS, take it one step further and add automated mileage tracker. It could coordinate with GEO Fencing where it pings their location only this option would be part of the GPS/GEO Fence and Task assignment. We have a task associated with material acquisition, but our employees drive company vans and accurate mileage is an ongoing issue. One of our vans has a digital read out that works only when it wants, so we document it when it shows up then compare to the last reading. Auto mileage with time sheets would give me peace of mind but more importantly it would provide more accuracy to job costing and tax data. (A side benefit is knowing exactly how many miles were driven without manually creating a routing map in mapquest or other similar program where multiple stops can be input. There are a couple of similar programs but they are add-ons that do not increase an existing application, rather add one. Clock Shark is the best time sheet program, I want to be a part of its growth and intrinsic value!
